Andrew Sholtes, Managing Attorney

Andrew Sholtes is the managing attorney of Sholtes Law, PLLC, a personal injury firm with offices in Fort Pierce, Stuart and Okeechobee. He is a Stuart native, and the cases he takes now come from Treasure Coast roads, job sites and neighborhoods: crashes on US-1 and I-95, falls in local stores and apartment complexes, injuries on construction sites, and families who have lost someone to another person’s negligence. Andrew handles injury cases on a contingency fee: you pay no attorney’s fee unless we recover for you, and you owe no costs if there is no recovery. The first consultation is free. Call 855-534-2509.

Education: J.D., Magna Cum Laude, FIU College of Law

Andrew earned his J.D. magna cum laude from Florida International University College of Law in 2016.

Litigation Experience at the Willie Gary Law Group

Before founding Sholtes Law, PLLC, Andrew was an attorney with the Willie Gary Law Group, where he worked on personal injury cases, wrongful death cases, complex commercial litigation and tobacco cases.

He brought that work home to the Treasure Coast. In an injury case, that means building the file early: the crash report and the scene photographs, the video that would otherwise be overwritten, the medical records that tie each injury to the event, and the policy limits of everyone who might be responsible.

Bar and Court Admissions

Andrew was admitted to The Florida Bar on September 22, 2016, and he is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Most of his cases are filed in Florida’s 19th Judicial Circuit, which covers St. Lucie, Martin, Indian River and Okeechobee counties, at courthouses including the St. Lucie County Courthouse in Fort Pierce and the Martin County Courthouse in Stuart.

A Practice Focused on Personal Injury

  • Car accidents
  • Truck accidents
  • Motorcycle accidents
  • Bicycle accidents
  • Pedestrian accidents
  • Distracted and drunk driving crashes
  • Uninsured and underinsured motorist claims
  • Rideshare accidents

How long do I have to bring an injury claim in Florida?

For most negligence claims that accrued after March 24, 2023, Fla. Stat. § 95.11(5)(a) allows two years to file suit, and wrongful death claims also carry a two-year period under § 95.11(5)(e). Claims against government entities follow different rules — written notice to the agency within three years under Fla. Stat. § 768.28(6), and suit generally within four years under § 768.28(14) — so it is worth confirming your deadline early.
